VCU art/art education students collaborated with youth at the Six Points Innovation Center (6PIC) to create alphabet books for the community.
On April 30, 2018, after seven weeks working collaboratively to create social justice, Richmond-themed alphabet books for the Highland Park community, VCU art/art education students, 6PIC youth and adults from the community gathered for a reading performance and celebration. Highland Park resident Loretta Wallace played selections from her vintage record collection and youth from 6PIC's Lyrics and Beats group performed original pieces. Two books each were donated to the North Avenue Public Library, Overby-Shephard Elementary School, and 6PIC.
