I can't believe we're in the last week of our time in Edinburgh. Seven months ago when we arrived just before Hogmanay (New Year's) I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to book end our trip between Edinburgh's two world renowned celebrations: Hogmanay and the Fringe Festival---and here we are in August. I bought tickets for the Royal Tattoo in February for August 6th and despite the rain pouring down and cooler temperatures--the show went on. This year's theme is Kaleidoscope and military bands from the UK, France, New Zealand, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, China and Germany participated. New Zealand was one of my favorites. Despite the rain I took some videos of the splendor on the Esplanade at Edinburgh Castle. Bleachers with seats had been set up on either side of the Esplanade and we had really good seats toward the middle.
