My Fulbright experience allowed me to hold two separate Artstories events---one with immigrant youth in the SCOREscotland group in Wester Hailes and one with PhD students and faculty at Moray House School of Education. Unfortunately the IRB process needed to be revised due to the 2018 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) privacy rules in the UK. This meant that my consent forms had to be amended and approved before I could conduct my research. The study began in late April, a difficult time for students as it's at the end of the academic year. Jing and I only had 2 participants (in addition to ourselves) a PhD student and a faculty member from the Edinburgh College of Art, but we managed to complete two altered books between us for inclusion in the exhibition alongside the altered book I collaborated on with scholars at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) where I was housed for the Fulbright.
